Our first event at the Roosevelt Hotel was met by great reviews for the food, location, and our speaker. Andrew (AJ) Janower, Managing Director of Charlesbank Capital kept the room riveted with details covering the equity and financial markets. We have provided a link for those that wanted copies of his fantastic presentation.
I also just learned that AJ's daughter, Samantha was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor 2 years ago. After completing chemotherapy she has been able to stabilize the tumor. AJ and his wife Cindy in order to progress brain tumor research has set up a fund to underwrite grants. On May 21, Team Samantha will sponsor a 25-50 mile "Ride for Research," in the Boston area. You can learn more about this event at www.janower.net. |

ACG-NY held its 2nd annual Monte Carlo/Awards Night at Tavern on the Green. Featuring specialty drinks from our liquor sponsor Ciroc, Tanquerray and Johnnie Walker Red, I can dutifully inform you that no one was in any pain the entire night. Our grand prize winner for a 5-day trip to Monte Carlo was won by Peter Wyman of Merrill Corporation. We also handed out our unique ACG awards to those that have led committees in 2005 and have gone the full mile to help ACG in its dramatic growth in 2005. |

We thank them for allowing ACG to be able to put on quality programming and events that will benfit both our membership as well as our sponsor.

So, next time you run into them (they have a ribbon on their badges), ask them how you can get involved in ACG. A new board will be selected next January 2007. Board members are selected in part by their activity in supporting ACG. You don't need to be a Director to participate...Have an idea, submit an article, know someone who should join ACG, or a programming idea...send me a note and I'll get back to you.
