Dear Members and Friends of ACG-New York,

On behalf of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of ACG, I'd like to thank the many of you who have donated your efforts to helping make ACG-New York recognized as the leading transactional growth association in New York.

What I'm most proud of is that while ACG has grown in size and stature it is still very similar to when I attended my first meeting in 1999. I remember that I was warmly welcomed by members and was encouraged to get involved. The Chapter founded in 1954, had been in existence for 46 years and typically about 40 professionals attended about 9 meetings a year. How times have changed.

Today, ACG-New York has 900 members and our attendance at networking events range from 125 to 600 members involved in promoting transactional growth.

Over the last 6 years your chapter has adapted to a changing business climate. Our membership today, represents a Who's Who of transactional professionals involved in middle market deals both in the United States and encompasses the global dealmaking marketplace. This year over 1,000 professionals attended ACG's first Capital Connection in China

With the help of many dedicated ACG members, we have a number of events planned for the coming year. Next week we will be hosting our Corporate Program focusing on how "Companies can prosper during tougher times," chaired by David Deutsch (David Deutsch & Company).

In November, we'll be hosting our Fifth Annual, Capital Connection Wine Event, chaired by Clifton Yen (American Capital Strategies). We have begun planning our first Women's Program to be held in December, as well as our Stratton Ski Event, a Fundless Sponsor Meeting, Monte Carlo/Awards Program, and Corporate Development Officers Dinner.

We've started a new initiative in Westchester, chaired by Lee Justo who is putting together a December Networking Program as well as a number of events in 2008. We're looking for a core group of members to work with ACG to expand our networking and educational programs to both Westchester and Long Island.

We look forward to your participation as well as comments and suggestions on how we can continuously make improvements and build upon ACG- New York's success.

As we begin Q4, we encourage you to join us at our many events that can provide you with the opportunity to make new contacts, acquaintances and business opportunities. We encourage you to introduce ACG within your own network.

>9/24 ACG Golf Event
golf 2007
Under the direction of our Golf Chairman, Jeff Wurst (Ruskin Moscou and Faltischek) 30 teams of Golfers spent the day networking at the Apawamis Golf Club in Rye. You couldn't have asked for a nicer day of golf...but, more importantly, new contacts were made and potential deals sourced. We'll return once again to Apawamis in 2008.

We thank Jeff and his committee for the effort in putting this event together. It's very much appreciated.
>9/20 Distressed CapCon
crowd
8 months ago, as PE's began to focus on distressed businesses, ACG started planning our 1st Distressed Capital Connection. Our focus for the conference was to look at the opportunities that would be available to our members, should there be downturn in the economy. What we didn't plan on was the collapse of the mortgage markets and home markets as well as a 1/2 point reduction by the Fed prior to the conference.

In conjunction with the Turnaround Management Association, the conference was attended by over 400 participants representing private equity distressed funds, hedge funds, investment banks, turnaround professionals, distressed uni-tranche lenders, and other transactional professionals.

Our three economists (Gene Sperling, former Clinton Economist, Peter Schiff, and Kingman Penniman added a great deal of knowledge to the subject. In addition, participating Distressed Investors benefited from the potential new deal flow.
>9/28 LBO Sponsor Group
Albert
Led by Robert Landis (Riverside Company) the LBO Sponsor Group is restricted to professionals in private equity to discuss topics of mutual interest. ACG holds 4 meetings a year on a number of topics. Recently, Albert Angrisani, President of Greenfield Online spoke. We will shortly post slides and audio relating to this meeting.

Speaker: Albert Angrisani, President and Chief Executive Officer, Greenfield Online/Ciao (Nasdaq: SRVY), the world's leading provider of online data to the marketing research and consulting industries. Overview: Turnaround experts excel at company forensics: they figure out how a company got into trouble and fix it - but can a turnaround be avoided if you apply their thought processes before a company hits a wall? By the time most PE firms recognize they need a turnaround, it's too late for simple measures to put the firm back on track. Ultimately, a turnaround means loss of time against objectives, reduced revenue and profit to the PE firm and its investors, and distraction from expanding the return on the portfolio.
