Dear Lou,
Bobby

Dear Members and Friends of ACG-New York,
On behalf of ACG-New York, the Board and Executive Committee, I'd like to thank you for being a member and supporting a growing association that represents not just networking and education, but also the ability to create long-term relationships that will continue to benefit you many years in the future.

A few facts and figures on the growth of your ACG- New York Chapter. You're part of a 12,000 member global association with 53 chapters. ACG is an inclusive membership driven group. We look for our members to participate and we welcome new ideas that can expand our strategic mission. During 2007, your chapter hosted 25 events with approximately 4,000 attendees (or networking opportunities).

We continue to look for ways to enhance our members networking experience and look forward to your suggestions on how to increase membership, networking event ideas, and any other comments you'd like to share.

I'd also like to recognize our new annual sponsors to ACG. Merrill Corporation (Data Site) has again committed to supporting our activities for 2008. In addition, we welcome Oracle and Seyfarth Shaw LLP, as "Gold Sponsors" and Patton Boggs as a "Silver Sponsor." We welcome the support of additional sponsors during the year, which allows ACG to offer new and exciting opportunities, which in turn adds member value.

So what's in store for ACG-New York in 2008? New programming including our first Capital Connection as part of our International Dealsource on May 20th, a new Fundless Sponsor event now being planned, we continue to develop our programming in Westchester with a focus this year on manufacturing (May 2008), and we're developing an expansion plan to Long Island.

ACG-New York is a membership organization that facilitates relationship building and focused education for middle market deal-making professionals in the world's financial capital.

>2/12 Adam Blumenthal/BlueWolf Capital
adam blumenthal
Adam Blumenthal is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Blue Wolf Capital Management, and is a member of Blue Wolf's investment committee.

From 1989 to 2002, Mr. Blumenthal built and managed American Capital Strategies ("American Capital" or "ACAS"), a publicly traded buyout and mezzanine fund (NASDAQ: ACAS). When Mr. Blumenthal joined ACAS in 1989, it had one other employee and had not yet raised institutional capital. In the subsequent years, he played a central role in building it into a publicly traded business development corporation with a portfolio of over $1 billion invested in sixty-three middle-market companies by the time he left in 2002.

From American Capital's 1997 initial public offering until 2002, when he left American Capital to become First Deputy Comptroller of the City of New York, Mr. Blumenthal served continuously on ACAS's board of directors, and was a founding member of the investment committee of ACAS, while holding positions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, President and Vice Chairman. Over this time, American Capital produced a 22% IRR to investors in its initial public offering ("IPO").

<3/4 Dan Bonoff, Angelo Gordon
Angelo Gordon
ACG welcomes Dan Bonoff, Partner at Angelo Gordon, who will speak on March 4th at the Union League Club.

For Angelo, Gordon, bucking tradition goes hand-in- hand with making money. The hedge fund firm specializes in so-called "non-traditional" investments, such as distressed assets (bankrupt and other troubled companies), merger arbitrage (mergers, reorganizations, or liquidations), and convertible arbitrage (trading strategies-based convertible securities). Angelo, Gordon has expanded its investment activities into utility markets, real estate, and credit arbitrage. The company gives clients the choice of focusing their investments on just one of the company's strategies, or diversifying across several. Angelo, Gordon, which was founded in 1988, has about $11 billion in assets under management.

>4/9-11 Intergrowth-Orlando
bird
At the 37th annual InterGrowth, we're expecting more than 2,000 attendees for what will be an outstanding event. Given the size of the conference, we've taken special care in planning for ways in which attendees can maximize their investment. The expansive Marriott World Center in Orlando, Florida, will provide InterGrowth with more rooms and a newly constructed conference center, which means most attendees will be in one location with plenty of elbow room.

Capital Connection exhibitors will provide all attendees with expanded firm profiles that will contain detailed information about each exhibitor and their portfolio companies. With special "preview hours", attendees will have access to the Capital Connection tables prior to the actual event so as to better plan face-to- face meetings later that evening. Capital Connection exhibitors will be organized by deal size focus into three groups. The DealSource event will utilize sophisticated social networking software so that meetings are easily planned and confirmed with both parties. World class speakers will address topical issues: business, politics, sports and the economy.

From a social perspective, there will be golf outings on both the front end and back end of the conference. Tennis will return to InterGrowth. For all you runners, we are adding an InterGrowth 5k event. The always popular reception exclusively for Private Equity Groups, Intermediaries and Corporate Executives will be back in 2008. The signature opening reception will be held by an expansive pool in a tropical setting. 2008 will see the addition of an attendee lounge open throughout the conference so that attendees can have an easy place to meet and relax in between sessions and events. On Thursday afternoon, there will be a networking event around big screen televisions that will carry the opening round of the Masters Golf Tournament. Both Wednesday and Thursday night will feature "ACG Unplugged", late night events with music and socializing.

This year's New York Intergrowth party will be held in conjunction with the Louisiana Chapter. The fun starts on April 9th right after the opening cocktail party. Our previous parties included Disco (hey..some people like it!), The Alabama Blues Brothers (some people even took down their draws), and The Grateful Dead (Deadheads liked this one...that band was rockin)...This years event will feature New Orleans Zydeco music and a Mardi Gras atmosphere and will be sponsored by The Deal, Merrill Corporation, and PNC.
